Memorial Weekend

This weekend was one to remember for many reasons. Tracks flew our nations colors in honor of our country's service men and women while a battle raged on-track to get to another flag. Jason Martin lead the charge for the first of three nights with the ASCS Midwest series at McCool Junction. Jason lead a string of EMI cars across the stripe with the top five positions being an Eagle or Schnee car. This pattern would remain through the next two nights as Tony Bruce Jr. triumphed at Butler County Raceway with the same group. Jack Dover capped off the weekend at I-80 Speedway by earning the $3022 winners share and completing the hat-trick for EMI by earning all three wins on home soil. Shane Sundquist made it a clean sweep in the KAM Raceway event driving his Eagle Micro.
The North saw a familiar face in Husets Speedway victory lane Sunday as the Lunstra Motorsports group won with Mark Dobmeier behind the wheel. Mike Stien drove his Schnee to the front at Redwood Speedway while Randy Sipple did much of the same in his Schnee car at the Manitowoc Expo. Roger Campbell also waved the checkers at Butler Motor Speedway. Further South Justin Melton ran topless at Kennedale Raceway Park and secured a wingless win to his already stellar year. Ty Johnson crossed the Texas border once again and kept his momentum alive standing atop the podium twice in both Willis and Beaumont. Michael Lang also was a Texas victor at Devils Bowl.
Moving West, Seth Bergman also claimed two wins at Cottage Grove and driving through the field both times.
The other coast returned an all Eagle weekend with Chuck Hebing and Stewart Freisen sweeping the ESS events at Albany-Saratoga and Utica-Rome respectively. Darryl Ruggles once again proved invincible at Canandaigua. All told it was a great weekend for EMI and our loyal customer base.
